On Patreon you can join us for free tips and tricks. At the Supporter tier you'll unlock a monthly bonus video as well as the collection of all previous videos, along with other bonus content and occasional mini courses. If you need some more structure to your learning, come join us at the Student tier. Each month we'll be painting a new model, covering various techniques along with the STL gifted from our studio of the month. Finally we have the Apprentice tier for when you want something specific to dive into with Parker on a one-to-one basis.
Twitch
If you want to catch even more of Parkers streams come join us on twitch. This is often more a fun hang out with you all, with less of an emphasis on teaching. However Parker will still be happy to answer any questions you have when you drop by. Twitch subs also unlock additional channels on our discord.
Discord
We run a very active community filled with talented and helpful members of the model painting community. Whilst both Parker and Megs are there to answer your questions and offer support, we also have large community who are all quick and willing to help each other out with their best tips and advice. Parker also often does discord exclusive streams where you can come see him paint live and ask any questions. Even if you want to turn off from printing and painting for a while we have a bunch of other channels to chat about the latest game you've played or that tv show you've been binging. "Im a fairly new member to mimic’s patreon, having subscribed for 2 months thus far. I am also completely new to the world of painting and initially had some reservations about subscribing at a student level… wondering to myself what does this really offer me that i cant get from just watching various videos spread across social media?
In answer to that question, i have to say so so much and I’m glad i made the decision to subscribe and my only regret is that i didn't do so earlier. Parker and Megs are a font of knowledge. Megs’s interest and expertise is in cosplay and 3d printing and is a god send for technical questions about 3d printing, model prep, resin choice and general troubleshooting. Meanwhile Parker is adept at various styles of painting with a background that spans not only scaled models but also miniature painting and more traditional art forms, all of which influence his work and that he’s consistently happy to engage with discussions upon and offers his guidance upon utilising the breadth of his considerable knowledge.
In the short time ive been a student i already feel like i understand the underpinning concepts that govern painting much more than i did before, when i was solely relying on varied video sources i found online. Added to the benefits of having two experts in their respective fields to chat with and bounce ideas off, their is also the active discord community, which although currently small is overflowing with many talented creatives of all skill levels from the absolute beginner to other professional painters; who have collectively fostered a mutually helpful and supportive community where those interested in art have a space to grow, receive feedback and to share tips and techniques in an environment that supports personal and group development. A community i truly do feel lucky to be a member of and a place i have already been able to glean confidence from and a better understanding of the hobby of model painting.
